I think I'm back. Maybe. Sort of. I think I've sorted things out to a point where my life is going where it wants to go.

In the meantime I've started looking at registering for Animazement this year in Raleigh, NC - I'm thinking about going, and I think I'll book a hotel and ticket sometime this week. Is anyone else going? And can anyone give me cosplay suggestions? I have no idea who I'm going to go as and thus far all I have is a schoolgirl outfit to go in. Not exactly cosplay material, unfortunately; for me, it's more like an outfit made from everyday clothes that I wear rather constantly. But that aside, if anyone wants to meet up with me there, I'll be more than happy to meet up~~

Edit: I might go as Ashe from FFXII, or I could even do Lightning from FFXIII - I'm looking a lot at Final Fantasy costumes right now, though honestly, all suggestions are greatly appreciated <3

I've also begun taking some of my Gackt posters and wallscrolls down. The walls look so barren, the room looks so.. oddly empty. It looks like I'm moving out, almost. Unfortunately, I've lost a lot of respect for Gackt with the whole Nemuri Kyoshiro [sp?] Project thing and, frankly, I'm not sure yet but he may have lost me as a fan, at least for now. I appreciate his voice, appreciate the music genius he does have - because he possesses a lot of talent there, there is no doubting that - but I cannot appreciate the role he has chosen to play as many have called it a 'new hero'. No. The role he's playing... I find myself more disgusted with it than excited to see him as that character. No thank you. I think I'm going to change my layout here sooner or later [though takegamiteijiro will remain the same, mostly due to the very name of the journal].

Though... maybe it's time to move on. I've lived in the world of J-Rock for a long time now, almost five years. That's maybe not such a long time for some, but it's huge for me and it's definitely time to move on, look around, expand my interests.

That being said, I adore Hyde. I've loved his voice for almost 5 years now as well [L'Arc was the first Japanese band I really listened to, I think - thank you, Fullmetal Alchemist], and I don't see myself drifting away any time soon. I hope he at least stops in America in his world tour - if he's within 12 hours driving, I'm going and bringing friends, if he's within reasonable distance besides that, I'll fly. xD I think I'd do the same for MONORAL, I've been listening to them a lot lately, and I'd definitely do the same for Dir en grey xD DEG, COME BACK!

With concerts and all, I'm told Miyavi's coming back soon... I don't know if I'll go. I would have when I had tickets - last year - but now, it's like 'eehhh...' So I'm not so sure how that'll go. I don't have the enthusiasm for his style of music as much as I used to, though I enjoy a song of his every now and then. I suppose it all boils down to cost and distance, because I don't have my car quite yet. No trips for me on my own yet, unfortunately.

Speaking of trips, I went to Washington, DC last weekend to see the Chinese Terra Cotta warriors on loan to the National Geographic museum and it was AMAZING! There's so many stories in what I saw, so many stories in the warriors [and chariots, and horses, and other artifacts] themselves. I think I might take up a casual Chinese class around here again, too, but with my current aspirations to learn Russian and Japanese in college, as well as continue my Spanish education, we'll see... I'll probably get my languages confused. Lord knows I confuse my poor Spanish teacher enough when I've been working on Japanese...

Also been finalising plans to sing for the American Idol tryouts for the next season when they come through. I've been narrowing down my song choices and while I'm still looking at the last songs, I think I know what I'm doing a little better now~~ Lots and lots of fun there, I'm really hopeful.

Last but definitely not least, I'm in a relationship that I'm really enjoying. <3 It's odd how, just when you think that you understand yourself the world flips and suddenly the way you look at things just changes. I'm going out with a wonderful guy though - I'm really lucky to be with someone like him. He really makes me feel... whole. Complete. All sorts of corny, sappy, cheesy things. It's nice though. I really adore him. <3

And.. yeah. Long entry is long. I'm going to go to bed now~ ^^

So guys. Hiatus time. I don't know how long I'll be away for or even if I'll come back (though I suspect that I will in due time).

Due to situations caused both by my own actions and those of others, I need to step back and reanalyse my priorities and figure out exactly what kind of image I'm putting off to create the kind of animosity and general upset that I've encountered and experienced of late. I need the time to look at where I'm going, what I'm doing, how I plan to go where I want to. I hadn't realised how off-track I had become and it's time to go back and rebuild the foundation upon which I have chosen to stand on.

To those of you that have my email address, phone number or MSN, I'd love a call or a chance to chat with you - I will sporadically be online, and as I write them I will continue to post fics to takegamiteijiro.

And with that, I'll take my leave. Talk to you sometime in the (hopefully near) future!

1. I don't go out the door unless I'm wearing Platinum Egoiste.

Senior Project and Lady GaGa

Been up for more than 50 hours now but IT'S DONE. Thank god. I hate the senior exit project sometimes, you know? ~~Or most of the time.~~ But seriously, it's done! All I have to do now is turn in the portfolio, make my presentation and then not only do I pass English IV, it leaves me with one more class to take, after Spanish is over for the semester. Thank goodness.

Now... the presentation. It's a 7-10 minute monstrosity that I have no idea how to do. Or that's not accurate, I just have no idea what I'm going to say. Way to go, Kai. I'll figure it out though ^^

Anyway, random picture of my product [floor plan designed with 'green' techniques in mind] under the cut.

It's relatively simple, but I think I did a good job. Passing grade, here I come xD

Anyway, so on Saturday I was prowling around the Japanese iTunes store and decided to look up Lady GaGa music. What ensued was both beautiful and terrible [not to mention hilarious].

LoveGame (Chew Fu Ghettohouse Fix) - Lady GaGa and Marilyn Manson. I stared for a couple seconds and went and listened to it and... you know, I love Manson and all that, but he should really not be singing 'Let's play a lovegame/play a lovegame/do you want love/or you want fame/are you in the game/dans, the lovegame' etc. Scary as hell and just as hilarious. Totally going to bring it up at this week's random teenager gathering in my house on Wednesday. Let the good times roll.

Does anyone here play Aion? If you do, I have a grand total of 0 friends on there, so I'm always open. I won't be playing too much in the next week and a half or so thanks to an excess of schoolwork but if you want to add me, I'm usually on the Zikel server as an Asmodian. My username is Lariku and I'm usually playing as a Gladiator named Larkir ^^

When I'm not on the Zikel server I'm on... it starts with Az... I'm an Elyos warrior [haven't decided on Gladiator or Templar yet] called Naikarrah.

Like I did last year, I'm doing my top 10 for 2009 and then my resolutions ^^

It's been an interesting year, with more ups and downs than a roller coaster, but it's been a good one, overall. I can't help but say that - look at the friends I've made, the people I've met, the things I've seen, and there's no way it can't have been a good year. <3

So... here we go.

TOP TEN PERSONAL EVENTS OF 2009

1. Meeting HYDE and K.A.Z
This, above everything else, was the most amazing event of the year. I got to shake their hands, thank them for their music and for coming to America, and get their autographs! It was just... there are no words. Really. It was just... amazing. I see Hyde now in photoshoots and people say it looks airbrushed, but no. That's what he really looks like. And I still can't believe I've seen that.

2. Making New Friends
Heh, this made it up there last year, too. But it makes sense - without you guys, I'd probably be off doing something stupid, or running around in circles, or in a giant hamster wheel... who knows? ^^ Thank you all for being friends with me.

3. Seeing the VAMPS concert
THIS COUNTS AS ANOTHER BECAUSE IT WAS THAT EPIC. I was at the Los Angeles performance; there was so much emotion in the way Hyde performed, so much that I went home laughing about and reminiscing over. The things I remember the most was the performance of 'JESUS CHRIST' because not only was Hyde crying, I was, too [as was 3/4 of the audience]. There was so much emotion in his voice then, so much... and 'SWEET DREAMS' was amazing, too. Ju-ken with bass ftw! I hope I can see them again one day.

4. Visiting Europe
I got to travel around Europe during the summer, travelling through part of Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and a very small part of France, and the sights there were simply breathtaking [partially owing to the fact that due to altitude, the air on top of the mountains we visited is noticeably thinner]. I would give quite a lot to go back because there's so much there that's foreign to me, so much I still want to explore and a week was most certainly not enough time to do that. I'll go back sooner or later, mark my words ^^

5. Going to San Fransisco
I love San Fransisco. I love it. Love it love it love it love it. I can't wait to go back again. No matter how many times I go, I can never get enough of San Fransisco <3 I got to visit the Japantown area this time [I hadn't before] and got to go back to Chinatown, all the other places that I wanted to go, a couple museums, and went driving out to Big Sur and Monterrey and the like. I can't wait to go back again <3

6. Grades
I'm actually doing well this year o_o That's a surprise. My GPA is lamentable because of how badly I've screwed up, but this year shows definite improvement. I'm going to graduate~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

7. Helping Out
Same as last year, I've been helping my school out a lot with different things; whether it's buying Post It notes or helping set up for events, recently, I'm usually trying to do something. Our budget is a little bit looser, but we still can't afford pencils for the teachers, or Post Its for the front office. Hopefully next year they'll get more money to the school.

8. Losing Weight
This was probably the hardest goal to achieve - I was at 200 pounds exactly on January 1, 2009. I was told I'd probably be diabetic in one or two years with my lifestyle, and that if I didn't lose weight, there was nothing they could do to stop a few other health problems I had been facing. As of this writing, I am 139 pounds and I have only a little more to go. I'm really proud of myself, and I plan to keep up what I've changed to stay healthy.

9. Church
I've started to realise, as time goes by, that there's a lot about me that's changed, but there's still the part of me that is firmly grounded in my faith. I have my questions, and I will challenge myself with them, but I continue to hold my faith dear, and I think I've learned a lot this year.

10. First Job
It was only a summer job, but I learned a lot, working as a computer and wiring technician. I got to wire inside new construction sites and homes alike [which I came to really enjoy] and learned how to fix a lot of things on the computer. This was probably one of the most valuable experience I've had.

New Year's Resolutions

I actually succeeded in most of mine this year~~~ *cheers*

1. Finish losing weight and stay in that range
Only a little bit more and I'll be at my target weight of 130, and then my hope is that I can stay in a 130-135 range for the rest of the year.

2. Write something original
I want to go back and rewrite Web of Night and Descendants of Darque ^^; There's a lot of time I have invested in those, too much to just throw them away.

3. Get into college
That's always a good goal, though with my GPA I'm not sure if I can make it. If I don't get into one of the universities I applied to, I'm probably going to community college.

4. Get another job
This has to happen - there's no real choice involved here. I've been searching for about a month now; wish me luck as a teenager wandering into the job market. ^^;

5. Get more involved with the church
I'd like to, at the very least, start doing more than just helping lead youth group.

6. Disentangle myself a little bit more from technology
I'm better than I was last year; I'm not spending any more than 8 hours on the computer, as opposed to the 10 or sometimes 12 I used to [even at the beginning of this year]. I need to learn to shut my cell phone off, put my iPod away, and shut down the computer. That'll take a few more years, and as much as I enjoy being totally 'wired in', it's probably not altogether healthy. I mean, the last time I willingly went outside during the daytime for more than three minutes was this summer. I really, really need to work on that.

So what kind of resolutions do you guys have? I've seen a lot around LJ so far o.o
